The spine is an extension of the brain.
Every adjustment ever given, no matter what the doctor or patient believed, was never about moving a bone. What happened at a biological level was a precise neurological event. The adjustment is a mechanical input delivered to the spine that instantly changes how the brain processes information about the body. Your spine not just a stack of bones that keep you upright. It is one of the most densely innervated structures in our bodies… Loaded with mechanoreceptors/proprioceptors that constantly feeds our brain information about position, movement, energy input and output, and safety. When a segment loses its normal motion, the signal becomes distorted and the brain receives inaccurate information and cannot regulate the body optimally. (disfunction = lowered health) The adjustment restores the signal. The research isn't new. It's known. Peer reviewed and documented. Adjustments measurably change the cortical drive… Meaning, brain activity changes after an adjustment and there is an exponential benefit to those who do it regularly. The adjustment improves muscle activation, reaction time, proprioceptive accuracy, and prefrontal cortex function. Maintenance adjustments are not (really) for pain relief, although that's a benefit.
